Inside the University

Usually you need OMERO.insight for the transfer. Inside the biology you don't have to install OMERO.insight locally, you can use our client share instead (for Mac and Windows) on \\omero.cellnanos.uni-osnabrueck.de\tools.



PC to OMERO :: via OMERO.insight

OMERO to PC

For small files you can use OMERO.web for downloading your raw file or export it to another file format (download size < 150 MB).

1. Connect to OMERO via OMERO.web
2. Select the files you want to download
3. On the top of the General tab pane select the down arrow and specify the format you want to download (choose Download... for downloading the raw format)

For larger files please use OMERO.insight

1. Connect to OMERO via OMERO.insight at \\omero.cellnanos.uni-osnabrueck.de\tools and login with your LDAP credentials
2. Select the files you want to download
3. On the top of the General tab pane select the down arrow and specify the format you want to download (choose Download... for downloading the raw format)

Outside the University

Usually you need OMERO.insight for the transfer. Please install it on your pc (see:installation) and specify as server address: omero.cellnanos.uni-osnabrueck.de by clicking on the wrench icon.

PC to OMERO

1. Connect to OMERO via OMERO.insight by going to the OMERO.insight installation directory, start bin/omero-insight.bat and login with your LDAP credentials
2. Open the importer and import your images

Depending on your personal LAN connection it could take more time as usual. In some cases it could be more practicable to zip your files and transfer the zip via myshare on your workstation inside the university and import from their the data (via remote session). Please pay attention: that only makes sense if the size of the zip file is significantly smaller than the original data.

OMERO to PC
